First, because whoever lies does not need to strive to control data or to think about how to interpret it correctly. His wish is enough to throw any falsehood into the arena. She will only run everywhere and deceive many. 

Second, because supposedly pluralistic societies allow the diffusion of almost everything, under the banner of Rights which, they say, can never be put into discussion: those of freedom of thought and expression.

A first point: the so-called freedom of expression sometimes finds iron controls. Just look at the persecution suffered by anyone who speaks of possible cures requested by those who have certain sexual tendencies.

A second point: spreading lies in the great public is only possible from the support of powerful news media, in which they dominate those interests of those who have money in abundance and more or less manifest ambitions.

There will be someone who claims that thanks to the Internet, more and more lies will be exposed, and more truths will be promoted. But also, the Internet has its rules, and many serious jobs are buried in a heap of insults and easy lies.

So, who will save us from the many avalanches of lies? In part, a good education to the real critical sense, which assumes that there are masters free of misleading ideologies. Something, it is noticed with sorrow, not easy.

In part, with a patient and constant personal work, that helps family and friends to get vaccinated so as not to be deceived by what turns fast and everywhere without minimum guarantees of seriousness.
