Pope Sends Telegram of Condolences for Those Affected by Wildfires in Greece

‘His Holiness Pope Francis was deeply saddened to learn of the recent wildfires in Greece, and extends his heartfelt solidarity to all those affected by this tragedy.’

Pope Francis expressed this in the condolences he sent to the loved ones and victims of those affected by the wildfires in Greece in these days, reported the Holy See Press Office. Recent forest fires have reportedly left at least 60 dead and many more seriously injured near the Greek capital of Athens.

In the message sent today, July 24, 2018, on the Pope’s behalf by Vatican Secretary of State, the Pope assures those suffering of his prayers, thanks those responding to the tragedy and commends the souls of those who died to the merciful love of almighty God.

The Holy Father concludes invoking upon all those who mourn, the Lord’s blessings of consolation and strength.
