Ethics in crisis

I don´t know why, it´s wanted to see ethics as an ancient heritage of the past. We have seen in many faculties of universities, both public and private, that ethics aren´t present in the curriculum, and when they are it´s optional. We have left therefore ethics in the field of marginality. And one wonders: Why drift is taken, if ethics are a basic condition for a comprehensive development of individuals and people. We´ve seen the public landscape ravaged by corruption and malpractices. Skilled professionals, excellent economists, lawyers, engineers, trained in the best universities, with their speculative actions have caused the bankruptcy system.
The crisis, therefore, has not been caused by ignorance, but by prepared and talented people, but without scruples or ethical principles. When we talk about ethical principles, we are talking about attitudes of kindness in front of life. It seems that these attitudes are not given the attention they deserve. It´s interesting to see that goodness is not the subject of media attention. Instead evil seems to have more audience, especially if presented sensational and lurid way. As if the public had a thirst for morbidity. Goodness, however, isn´t displayed or seeking applause, it works quietly without waiting for recognition. It´s enough satisfaction generated by its practice. But as media attention goes unnoticed, it seems not to exist. Or worse, when there’s a dangerous opposition of ideas, as I have seen in an article in a supplement, saying that if a person was good couldn´t be smart, or conversely, if he was smart he couldn´t be good, and this put into the mouth of a recognized intellectual, it seems that intelligence is synonymous with evil.
This clash of ideas is a very serious mistake, because only when intelligence is at the service of noble causes, we open the way to a better future. It´s true that without intelligence there´s no future, but only with intelligence, there´s also no future. Only an open intelligence altruism and the common good, have the capacity to change the world. The intelligence service of goodness is the main factor of change and the driving force of the common good.
