SHORT BIOGRAPHY


Hermit and bishop. Paul was originally a courtier who departed the secular life and became a hermit near Trier, Germany After a number of years he entered the monastery of Tholey and became the headmaster in the monastery school.

He was named the bishop of Verdun about 630 by King Dagobert.
