Bishop and soldier in the army of co-Emperor Licinius Licinianus. Auxentius refused to take part in sacrifices before pagan gods and was persecuted for the faith. Released from military service, he was ordained a priest. Auxentius became the bishop of Mopsuestia, in Cilicia.
