All 115 Cardinal electors are in Rome. The next step is to decide the date of the Conclave this afternoon. 18 Cardinals spoke today on: interreligious dialogue, contemporary culture, bioethics, justice, the importance of the Church proclaiming a positive message of love & mercy, collegiality & the role of women in the Church.

Domus Santa Martha, is the residence of the cardinals during the Conclave. Rooms are assigned by lot -no cardinal chooses his neighbor nor which room they would prefer. The newly elected Pontiff will remain for a short time at “Domus” while papal apartments are unsealed & renovated.

The Vatican's dicasteries continue with normal activities under the direction of their department heads. Cardinal Prospero Grech, O.S.A. will give the next meditation to the College of Cardinals. The elevation of the floor of the Sistine Chapel serves to render a uniform working space, covering the uneven pavement & steps around the altar & along the left wall of the chapel.
