Super Anything?

Do Catholics need superpowers?
by Benjamin O'Loughlin, LC | Source:

Get the kids in the car. The spit-up off the baby's dress. All the cloths in the wash. Too late - Bobby forgot to dig his dirty socks out from under the bed. Bake the coffeecake for the Moms-only Reading Circle. No sugar!

Or maybe you're not a mom. Maybe you're a college-student. Father. Businessman. Tycoon. Ordinary Joe.

For all of us, life without superpowers is 24/7 experience of trying to cope.

    Add faith... and its demands.

And enter Benedict XVI. Yesterday he offered a key insight on coping with life and living your faith to the hilt.

We must not fear the humility of taking small steps, trusting in the leaven that makes the dough rise slowly and mysteriously... From the Gospel we see how Jesus was interested in every human situation He encountered, He immersed Himself in the lives of the men and women of His time, with complete trust in the help of the Father… In Him, proclamation and life were entwined

Faith is life. You don't need superpowers to go the extra mile, because living everyday life with love is the extra mile.
