Could God be knocking at my door as well?
The real signs will be a little deeper, a lot more personal, and will have to do with your own love for Christ and your desire to give yourself to him totally.

Q. Dear Fr. Anthony,
I was in a relationship that was very near what a "perfect" one should be, and one that could have quite possibly developed into marriage. However, the guy decided he had a vocation to the priesthood. I am currently a freshman in college, but could God possibly be knocking on my door as well?
A. Dear Kim,
It is possible, but not definite, that God is knocking on your door as well. He is the Lord, and he can knock on anyone’s door anytime he likes, just as he knocked on your boyfriend’s door while he was in that wonderful relationship with you. For that reason, now that the question has arisen in your own soul, it would be well worth your looking into it. It certainly would not be a mistake to do so.
However, don’t treat the circumstance of God calling your boyfriend as a direct sign he is calling you, it is no more than a jump-start to go into deeper vocational discernment yourself. The real signs will be a little deeper, a lot more personal, and will have to do with your own love for Christ and your desire to give yourself to him totally. You will have to check also to see if you don’t have any impediments ( = clear signs God is not calling you to consecrate yourself to him).
If I were you I would start by going to him more often in prayer, especially speaking to him personally after you receive Communion, opening your heart and soul to him.
