Roman Martyrology: In Granada, Spain, Blessed Leopoldo of Alpandeire, a religious of the Order of the Capuchin Friars, who served for many years the office of chaplain  († 1956).

Beatification date: 12 September 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI.
 
SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Born on June 24, 1866 at Alpandeire, Málaga, Spain as as Francisco Tomas Marquez Sanchez.  Capuchin monk in Granada, Spain at age 33; he wore the cowl for over 56 years.

He died on February 9, 1956 in Granada, Spain. His beatification recognition celebrated at the Armilla Air Base, Granada, Spain, presided by Archbishop Angelo Amato.
